Parent Education

Parent Education @ Work

The Parent Education @ Work program is offered at no charge to area businesses at their work-site. Designed to support working parents of young children, our Parent Education Specialist leads 10 group sessions on various topics on child development, healthy parenting practices, and building stronger families. Opportunities Available in the Community

The Exchange Club Family Skills Center offers the following services in the Birmingham/ Jefferson County area: positive parenting groups, anger management groups (for adults and teens) and Parents as Teachers. To learn more, visit The Exchange Club Family Skills Center.

Parent Learning Sessions in Shelby County

Shelby County Children's Policy Council announces Parent Learning Sessions, held at The Arc of Shelby County, Thursday nights from 6 to 7 pm, March 28 through May 2, 2013.

Parenting Counts

In collaboration with Alabama Public Television and Talaris Research Institute, Childcare Resources is pleased to offer free Parenting Counts training workshops for parent groups. If you are interested in scheduling a Parenting Counts workshop at your family's child care program, speak with your Director. Directors can schedule this on-site training by calling Beverly Cook at (205) 252-1991, ext. 315.
