Childcare Resources hosted teen author Callie Chapman, creator of the Glitter the Unicorn series, for a special Beyond the Page event! Callie shared her inspiring journey of starting her book series at just six years old and her passion for giving back, including donating over $20,000 to children’s hospitals for art therapy programs. She also supports local children by providing her books to Jefferson County Family Courts and donated copies to the Childcare Resources library.

Check out our Beyond the Page event, along with our two Make-N-Take series that took place this March!

Participants received signed books and took part in a hands-on activity led by library consultant Jessica Mayhew, inspired by Glitter the Unicorn Goes to the Moon. The session included creating moon sand, glitter slime, and balloon rockets, along with moon observations. For this Make-N-Take event, attendees left with materials to bring these engaging learning experiences back to their classrooms!

I think visitors appreciate gaming websites that respect their time. Quick loading, clear menus, and straightforward content all contribute to that feeling. Nobody should need to click through multiple unnecessary pages just to reach a basic piece of information. A thoughtful structure can make the entire process easier. When a platform removes unnecessary obstacles, visitors can focus on exploring the information and features that genuinely interest them.

Such a lovely example of how creativity can make learning feel so memorable, especially with those hands-on activities. Speaking of fun ways to unwind, I’ve been enjoying Stickman Hook in my free time—it’s simple, relaxing, and surprisingly fun.
