Junior Board Spotlight: Steven Andrews

Communications Analyst, Regions Bank and Childcare Resources’ Junior Board Member

In 2018, Steven Andrews learned of the important impact that Childcare Resources has on our Central Alabama community and began his dedicated support to advancing the agency’s mission. Since then, he has supported Childcare Resources’ programs through volunteerism, financial contributions, and advocacy.

Nearly two years ago, he took his support a step further and committed to joining an incredible group of young professionals in advocating for making QUALITY child care happen in our community. Steven talked with us about how the Junior Board was the perfect opportunity for him and his family to learn the importance of understanding the opportunities that are available for child care.

Have you or someone you know used any of our programs?

I think it is important that people have education around child care and Childcare Resources bridges the knowledge gap for new parents. We felt clueless when we first had our son, so I know first-hand how impactful these resources are!

Share a bit about your experience as a parent with a young child:

I love being a parent! Our son can be a handful for sure! He is almost two years old, and it is so fun to watch him grow up and learn. He will talk your head off… even though you might not know what he is saying!

What do you think Childcare Resources’ Champions for Children Charity Breakfast brings to the community?

I think Childcare Resources offers so many unique programs to families with children who are looking for assistance, and the breakfast event is so helpful for learning about those programs.

Why would you recommend someone to get involved with Childcare Resources?

I believe in the work being done to support the mission, and I like that my contributions feel impactful so I would recommend it to someone for the same reasons.
