On Wednesday, April 22, 2020, the world will come together for the 50th anniversary of Earth Day! Earth Day is a global celebration to recognize the need for humanity to join together to make the planet a better, healthier place to live. Join us in celebrating and try some of these activities with your children:

  1. Gardening is a healthy and fun way to expose children of all ages to a variety of educational concepts in a hands-on way. Try some of these gardening activities to teach your children about environmental awareness and the beauty of nature.

  2. Join the digital celebration and check out earthday.org to find online events and activities that will introduce your children to the world’s largest environmental movement!

  3. Connect your child with the world around them through one of these virtual tours! Check out these educational, fun, and immersive tours with your children to explore our beautiful planet from home.

  4. PBS Kids offers a variety of free online educational games and activities for young children to celebrate Earth Day. Studies show that children can understand complex topics from a very young age that they will carry with them for the rest of their life.

  5. Incorporate a few creative activities to do while you go on a nature walk with your family. It’s easy to stay cooped up inside, especially during these challenging times, but with these fun and safe activities, children will jump at the chance to explore the world around us.
