For over 37 years, Childcare Resources has made claim as Central Alabama’s only child care resource and referral agency. In 1984, United Way of Central Alabama created Childcare Resources as an outgrowth of a child care task force to address critical child care needs identified in Jefferson, Shelby, and Walker Counties, with Blount County added to the service area in 1988. Childcare Resources is a Birmingham, Alabama based non-profit organization whose mission is to make quality care and education of children happen by providing information, education, and assistance to families, providers of child care, and the community.
